All of these questions can be further clarified during your first appointment, but this will get you started!
Where are you located?
Modern Me is located one block south of I-390 and Roselle Road, overlooking Turner Pond from the north. Here is the address:
390 East Devon Avenue Suite 201 Roselle, IL 60172
How long are sessions?
The answer to this question depends on multiple factors, including your needs and insurance requirements.
A standard therapy session lasts approximately 53 minutes.
What kind of therapy do you do?
Our providers use a variety of approaches, including, but not limited to:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
- Person-Centered Therapy
- Neuro/Biofeedback
- Play Therapy
- Narrative Therapy
What ages are your clients?
Our providers are able to serve clients throughout the life span, from toddlers to seniors.
What are your hours?
Business hours are by appointment only. Generally, though, they reflect regular business hours with some evening and Saturday availability.
How long will I need to be in therapy? When will I feel better?
There is no real answer to this question. For some concerns, therapy can move quickly and efficiently. However, more complex situations require more time. Your willingness to work hard has a major impact on how long it will take to realize lasting change.
What happens if I cancel?
If appointments are cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time (48 hours on weekends), you are required to pay a cancellation fee of $150, because short-notice cancellations don’t allow enough time for the therapist to fill the session time with clients from the waiting list.
What does therapy cost?
A client who is not using insurance is expected to pay $200 per session at the time of service.
Clients using insurance are responsible for paying any amount not covered by their insurance provider at the time of service.
Do you take credit cards?
We take Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover credit cards.
Can I use my health care savings plan?
You are required to pay for sessions at the time of service, after which we will provide you a bill you may submit for reimbursement.
Do you take insurance?
Insurance acceptance varies depending on the insurance company, therapist, and service provided. In the event your insurance is not one with which we work, we can provide you a superbill that you can submit for reimbursement.
Why should I see you and not someone else?
Because therapy is so personal, it’s hard to say. We are confident most therapists are doing their best to help.
If we don’t have the right fit for you, we will refer you to someone else. You’ll find we’re educated in a wide variety of arenas and have experiences that make us uniquely able to meet our clients where they are and guide them to where they want to be.
Driven by a desire to serve others, we put everything we have into our work with you. We invest in your growth!
What if I can’t afford your rates?
We have access to several excellent referrals for you to consider, and we’re more than happy to provide these to you.
What is something unique about me?
Dr. Mike – He can whistle like a bird, which drove teachers crazy!
Dr. Nahrain – She can cook like nobody’s business. She can make a 5-course meal out of frozen peas, cheese whiz, and ice cubes.
What can I do to help myself in the meantime?
Sleep… getting proper rest goes a long way to strengthen your ability to handle whatever comes your way.
Why is there such a stigma around therapy?
No one likes to feel vulnerable or admit we are struggling; it’s scary to think what it might mean. In addition, as a culture, we have not done enough to normalize mental health treatment. The idea that we need help dealing with our emotions can make a person feel weak. In truth, seeking help is direct evidence of our strength.
How do I talk to people about my seeking help?
You don’t have to share your personal business with anyone. However, if you choose to share the fact you’re in therapy with anyone you should feel confident and proud that you’re taking care of yourself. Your involvement in therapy only makes you able to be more present and fully engaged in your activities and relationships.
